Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Last updated Date: February 11, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are provided by Rui Pedro Correia (“we“, “us“, or “our“).
These Terms govern your use of the Speedometer One mobile application (the “App“) and the website
https://speedometerone.app (together, the “Services“).
Safety and accuracy notice. The App uses GPS (and, on some devices, sensor data) to estimate speed, distance, and route information.
These readings are estimates only and may be inaccurate due to factors such as signal quality, tunnels, buildings, weather, hardware limitations, and satellite availability.
Do not use the App as a substitute for a vehicle’s certified speedometer, and do not use App data as evidence in legal proceedings, insurance claims, or official disputes.
Do not operate or interact with the App while driving or operating any vehicle. You are solely responsible for complying with traffic laws and safe driving practices.
1. ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2. ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Services only with permission of a parent or legal guardian.
3. LICENSE AND PERMITTED USE
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use.
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where permitted by law.
- Modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or create derivative works of the App or any part of it.
- Use the Services in a way that is unlawful, unsafe, or interferes with other users or the Services.
- Bypass or attempt to bypass any access controls, security measures, or technical limitations of the Services.
4. DEVICE PERMISSIONS
The App may request device permissions to provide features. Location permission is required for GPS-based speed and trip functionality.
Other permissions (such as notifications or activity/motion access) may be optional and depend on your device and enabled features.
You can manage permissions in Android system settings. Some features may not work without the relevant permissions.
5. FREE FEATURES, ADS, AND PAID FEATURES
The App may offer some features at no charge, may display ads, and may offer paid features.
Paid features may be offered as automatically renewing subscriptions, non-renewing subscriptions (where available), or one-time purchases.
The available plans, billing periods, pricing, and included features are shown to you at the time of purchase and may change over time.
6. BILLING, SUBSCRIPTIONS, CANCELLATIONS, PRICE CHANGES, AND REFUNDS (GOOGLE PLAY)
If you purchase subscriptions or other paid features through Google Play, payment processing and subscription management are handled by Google under Google Play terms and policies, in addition to these Terms.
You are responsible for maintaining access to your Google account and your chosen payment method.
6.1 Billing and renewal
- Charges: Subscriptions are billed by Google Play (including applicable taxes where required) to the payment method on your Google account.
- Start of term: Unless otherwise shown during checkout, you are charged at the start of each billing period.
- Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
6.2 Trials, introductory pricing, and promotions (if available)
- Free trials / intro offers: If you start a free trial or introductory offer, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the offer period unless you cancel before it ends.
- Promotions: Promotional pricing or benefits may apply only for the stated duration and subject to any conditions shown at the time of redemption.
6.3 Managing, pausing, and cancelling
- Manage or cancel: You must manage or cancel your subscription through Google Play subscription settings for your Google account.
- Effect of cancellation: Cancellation stops future renewals. You typically retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period, unless a refund is granted or law requires otherwise.
- Pause (where available): In some regions and for some subscriptions, Google Play may offer a pause option. If you pause, you may temporarily lose access to paid features until you resume payments.
6.4 Failed payments, grace periods, and account hold
If Google Play cannot successfully charge your payment method for renewal, Google Play may retry payment and your subscription may enter a grace period or be placed on hold.
During this time, access to paid features may be interrupted, suspended, or restored depending on the subscription state and Google Play rules.
6.5 Price changes
We may change subscription prices. Google Play will provide notice in advance and, where required, may ask you to accept the new price.
If you do not accept a required opt-in price increase, your subscription may be cancelled before renewal at the higher price.
6.6 Refunds
Refund eligibility (if any) is determined by applicable law and Google Play’s refund policies and processes. In many cases, refunds (when available) are requested through Google Play.
In some situations, Google Play may direct you to contact the developer for support. We do not have access to your full payment details and cannot directly modify Google Play transactions.
6.7 Restoring purchases
Paid access is generally associated with your Google account. If you reinstall the App or change devices, purchases can typically be restored by using the same Google account on Google Play.
If you have trouble restoring access, contact us and include any order details you have available (for example, the Google Play order ID).
7. PRIVACY
Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy:
https://speedometerone.app/privacy-policy/.
8. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The Services may integrate with or link to third-party services (including platform services, analytics, crash reporting, and advertising providers).
These third parties operate independently and have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, content, or practices.
9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Services, including all content, trademarks, logos, and software, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Services.
10. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully accurate.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Services.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
12. TERMINATION
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Services, users, or third parties.
You may stop using the Services at any time by uninstalling the App.
13. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated Date” above indicates when changes were last made. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
14. CONSUMER RIGHTS
If you are a consumer, you may have certain statutory rights under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit or exclude any rights that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
15. GOVERNING LAW
